Enrolment in Other Year Levels
Prep Transition
Our Transition Program commences with a Parent Information Evening, which provides our new prep parents with an overview of the school curriculum as well as general information about teaching and learning at Keysborough Gardens Primary School.
To ensure a smooth start to school life, we provide a comprehensive 4 session transition program for all enrolled future prep students during term 4.
The aim of these sessions is to provide an opportunity for our future preps to visit the school, become familiar with their new environment, get to know their future classmates as well as many of the staff, and start to feel a part of our community.
We warmly welcome our future preps and look forward to them becoming part of our community.
Buddy Program
Our Buddy program involves our year six children being paired with our preps as they begin school.
The program supports a smooth transition for our preps starting school and and promote a sense of community and belonging.
We aim to develop positive relationships between the younger and older children, enhancing the sense of a friendly and supportive school community.
There are also benefits for the older buddy in acknowledging their leadership, responsibility and pride in their ability to be helpful.
Our Prep teachers oversee how the relationships develop and are maintained. The older buddies are provided with advice and some ‘training’ on how to be a good buddy.
The children participate in structured activities together as well as being provided with opportunities to identify other activities they might do with and for each other.
A Snapshot of Our Day
Hear From Our Community
"Our school is fun and we get to meet some friends. And I like a lot of fun stuff that we get to play with. And there is a lot of stuff we get to learn. My favourite thing to do is art because I want to be a very good artist when I grow older. My teachers are lovely and kind and very generous to the kids and are very good for teaching the new preps for next year."

A Word from Our Students
"I am a founding student at Keysborough Gardens P.S. Our school opened in 2020. It has wonderful facilities and everyone listens to each other and show respect. We have lots of fun activities at our school. Soon our school will have everything we want because of the creative suggestions and ideas from our teachers and students. KGPS is a wonderful school!"
Ariyan, Student
"I love that at our school, everyone feels welcome. The teachers are really supportive, and they welcome all students with open arms. A lot of the class sizes are smaller than other schools, which means you get more attention from teachers. The specialist classes are always fun and entertaining, and we are challenged in different ways. I look forward to going outside, because our school grounds are beautiful."

"KGPS has a great community feel to it. I have found that the teachers and staff are both socially and emotionally nurturing. I love that the teachers also encourage children to academically push themselves to reach their goals, while supporting them along the way.
The best part is that there is no race at KGPS, everyone is an equal."
